Welcome to the Dakota Legacy Nursery — your front-row seat to a story rooted in heritage, shaped by generations, and now coming full circle at Tipsy Rabbit. On September 28, 2026, Nelli & Jett Jr. welcomed nine beautiful Dakota Legacy puppies into the world. What began with tiny heartbeats and little rolls beneath Nelli’s belly has become a nursery full of puppy piles, tiny squeaks and a brand-new generation beginning to make its mark. Here, you can follow their journey through all the milestones ahead — from sleepy newborn days and opening eyes to wobbly first steps, growing personalities and all those little moments in between. This litter feels especially personal. Nelli was born right here at Tipsy Rabbit, a daughter of our foundational pair, Charlie & Maverick. Now, we have the privilege of watching her become a mama herself, carrying the next generation forward alongside Jett Jr. — honoring the dogs and bloodlines that brought us here while looking ahead to everything these little legacies may become. Even their litter names pay homage to the dogs who came before them, with each one carrying a small piece of the history woven throughout Nelli & Jett Jr.’s pedigrees. It’s one more way this litter celebrates where we came from while carrying the legacy forward. Thank you for joining us as their story unfolds. Little Eyes, Wobbly Adventures & Big Gains
October 12, 2026
Our Little Legacies are TWO weeks old, and the nursery is getting more adorable by the day! Nora 🩵 led the first peeks, and now all the little eyes look back when we lean into the whelping box. They’re finding their feet with the sweetest “Weeble walk,” with Jagr ❤️ leading the way. A few of Nelli’s favorite toys now make a miniature obstacle course for snuggles and wobbly adventures!
All nine have more than tripled their birth weight and are over two pounds! Dakota 💛 led this week’s percentage growth, while Jagr ❤️ and Hustler 💙 both topped three pounds, with Izzy 💚 just an ounce behind that milestone. Mama Nelli is keeping her growing puppy pile well fed and content.
With personalities beginning to emerge and more tiny discoveries ahead, get ready for puppy cuteness overload!

Little Peeks & Wobbly Steps

Our Little Legacies are growing right before our eyes—and starting to open theirs! Nora 🩵 was the first to sneak a peek followed by Jagr ❤️ the next evening.
By Day 9, every puppy had doubled their birth weight! As of yesterday, seven of our nine little ones were over two pounds. They’re also getting up on all fours and trying out that adorable “Weeble walk,” with Jagr leading the way today as he scooted around the whelping box.
Their coats are revealing a little more, too! We’ve identified four roans: liver roan Hustler 💙, Jossie 🧡, and Moxy 💜, and black roan Dakota 💛 while others have ticking coming in. Between tiny peeks, wobbly steps, and changing faces, these sleepy newborn days are giving way to an exciting new chapter. 🤎🤍🖤
One Week of Little Legacies

Just like that, our Dakota Legacy litter is ONE WEEK OLD!
The first week of puppyhood is beautifully simple — eat, sleep, grow, repeat — and these nine Little Legacies have certainly understood the assignment. The puppy pile is getting bigger by the day, those tiny newborn faces are already beginning to change, and everyone has officially graduated into their next-size collars.
Our early goal is to double birth weight around Days 7–10, and Jossie 🧡 was first to cross that milestone on Day 7, with Hustler 💙 right on her heels! The rest of the Little Legacies are making wonderful gains and closing in behind them.
The puppies also began Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) on Day 3. Each day brings a new little experience designed to gently challenge their developing neurological systems and introduce those tiny GSP noses to the world of scent.
And then there’s Nelli. Our first-time mama has taken to motherhood beautifully. She’s attentive, patient, and somehow managing to keep nine growing puppies fed, clean, content, and steadily gaining.
Next up is one of our favorite transformations — eyes and ears beginning to open! Over the coming days, the Little Legacies will slowly start discovering that there’s a whole world beyond their cozy puppy pile.

Meet the Dakota Legacies

The wait is over…it’s time to officially introduce our Dakota Legacy Nine!
Apparently Mama Nelli decided this legacy needed a little extra girl power. Our litter count is 9 beautiful puppies — 7 girls and 2 boys — with 4 black and 5 liver babies making up this very special crew.
True to the Dakota Legacy theme, their names were chosen as little nods to the dogs and generations woven throughout Nelli & Jett Jr.’s pedigrees — carrying a piece of their history forward into this next generation.

At just a few days old, their individual personalities are still waiting to unfold, and even their coats have some surprises left in store as ticking and roan begin to reveal themselves over the coming weeks. For now, we’re simply enjoying getting to know each tiny face and watching them grow.

First Big Adventure

Today was a big day for our little Dakota Legacies — their first trip to the vet! 🐾
All nine puppies received their newborn wellness checks, along with their tail and dewclaw procedures, and we’re happy to report that everyone did wonderfully. Our little crew is strong, healthy and content, and even better, every puppy is gaining weight! Those full little bellies are telling us Mama Nelli’s milk bar is officially open for business. ❤️
Mama Nelli got a little TLC of her own while we were there. She received acupuncture to support her body as she recovers from whelping and even managed to sneak in a little pedi while comfortably nursing her babies.
Back home, Nelli continues to settle beautifully into motherhood. She’s attentive, relaxed and quickly figuring out that nine puppies come with a whole lot of nursing, snuggling…and cleanup duty!
With their first vet visit officially behind them, our Dakota Legacies are back where they belong — tucked safely into the nursery with full bellies and Mama close by. 🤎🤍🖤
The Legacy Litter Has Arrived

After a long night in the whelping box, our Dakota Legacy puppies are here! 🤎🤍🖤
Nelli did an incredible job bringing her babies into the world and has settled beautifully into her new role as a first-time mama. For now, we’re keeping the details tucked away just a little longer while everyone rests, nurses and settles into their new rhythm.
Our Tipsy Rabbit families always get the first peek behind the curtain, but we promise the full reveal is coming soon — gender split, colors, names and plenty of newborn photos!
The next chapter of the Dakota Legacy Chronicle has officially begun.
One Last Run Before Motherhood

With whelp day just around the corner, Nelli enjoyed one last hoorah before settling in and preparing for her biggest adventure yet — motherhood.
Her belly may be bigger than usual and her usual athletic stride has definitely slowed down, but she was thrilled to get out and stretch those legs. She can still stop and turn surprisingly quick — just not quite on a dime these days! Tail high, ears (and udders) bouncing, she soaked up every bit of freedom and fresh air before heading home to her waiting whelping box.
There’s something especially sweet about watching a girl we raised right here at Tipsy Rabbit stand on the doorstep of becoming a mama herself. Soon, those little rolls and wiggles we’ve been feeling will become the next generation of tiny paws carrying her legacy forward.
For now, our girl got one last run.
The Nursery Is Ready
September 25, 2026
The nursery is officially ready for our Dakota Legacy litter. The whelping box is built, the blankets are tucked in, and everything we’ll need to welcome Nelli’s babies into the world is standing by.
As a first-time mama, Nelli may not know exactly what all this preparation means just yet, but she’s been busy investigating her new space, giving everything a thorough sniff and making herself comfortable as we count down these final few days.
There’s something especially full-circle about preparing this space for Nelli. Not so long ago, she was one of the tiny Tipsy Rabbit puppies we were preparing a nursery for. Now, we’re getting ready to watch her step into the whelping box as a mama herself and welcome the next generation.
The supplies are stocked, the nursery is quiet, and the whelping box is waiting. Soon, this peaceful little space will be filled with tiny squeaks, puppy piles, and a brand-new chapter of the Tipsy Rabbit story.
A New Generation Is on the Way!

Nelli’s pregnancy is confirmed and we spotted lots of little heartbeats on her ultrasound! 💕🐾 Our Dakota Legacy litter, Nelli × Jett Jr., is due around September 30th.
